The Rajya Sabha on Wednesday kicked off proceedings, with the Opposition questioning the timing of income tax raids at Karnataka state Minister D.K. Shivakumar’s residence and the resort where Congress MLAs from Gujarat were housed.
Union Minister Arun Jaitley said, “No searches as such took place in the resort or on the Congress MLAs. Only the Karnataka Minister was searched. He was only picked up from resort where Congress MLAs are staying; searches on at 39 other places.”
The resort is not being raided, he added.
Reiterating his statements, Mr. Jaitley said, “Don’t link IT raids on Karnataka minister to Rajya Sabha polls in Gujarat.”
