We know Google celebrates birthdays and anniversaries with its special doodle. But Google users were offered a surprise, 19 to be precise, on the search engine giant’s 19th birthday.
The Google birthday spinner doodle, an interactive spinning wheel, allows user to play 19 games including the classic Pac-Man, and Snake.
These games are not new to regular Google users. The Stick Cricket, for instance, was created during the times of ICC Champions Trophy. The tic-tac-toe was introduced on a random mid-week last year.
Recalling how Larry Page and Sergey Brin started the company in a garage on September 27, 1997, Google’s official blogpost said: “Billions of searches later, perhaps the happiest happenstance has been how Google has grown throughout the past 19 years.”
And why name it Google? The founders named the company after ‘googol’, which meant a one followed by one hundred zeroes. Nineteen years later, Google is now serving more than 4.5 billion users in 160 countries speaking 123 languages worldwide.
