Dileep will stay outside AMMA till his innocence is proved, says Mohanlal.

Actor Mohanlal, president of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA), on Monday said actor Dileep would remain outside the organisation till his innocence is proved in the case of alleged sexual assault and kidnapping of a woman actor.

In a Press meet held in Kochi, Mr. Mohanlal said the decision taken at the general body meeting in the city on June 24 to reinstate Mr. Dileep was unanimous. Mr. Dileep himself had stated that he no longer wished to be a part of the organisation.

Mr. Mohanlal said that no member of the Women in Cinema Collective (WCC) attended the general body meeting, where the issue pertaining to Mr. Dileep’s ouster was included under the agenda for discussion. “However, we are ready to hold talks with the WCC on any issue,” he said.

Mr. Mohanlal reiterated that AMMA was always with the woman actor. “I also wish that Dileep comes out clear from this case,” he said.
